As a non-German/ Austrian student, I entered into the FH with a lot of hopes. By the end, I was just wishing for it to be over. The language of the courses was English. German would be spoken in every class with a German Lecturer, but not enough to really fall behind. I would suggest being at least familiar with the language before entering the FH. The lecturers were, for the most part, a disaster. They all fell into three categories: Incompetent and not knowing how to teach, competent and not knowing how to teach, and up to standards. The first two categories were by far the most common. Most had no enthusiasm or desire to teach, and we would see the external lecturers a handful times per semester. It was almost impossible to form a relationship with the lecturers, and it was difficult to approach them for help/ references. If I have to listen to another professor drag on another 6hr lecture of only powerpoint slides, so help me. I have never seen such disorganised courses, having repeating course material, outdated material, material that doesn't fit into the course, professors leaving in the middle of the semester, the list goes on. There is also a lack of accurate syllabuses, grading rubrics, and direction in the classes. I also had the feeling that they never really cared about the students or what they are learning. Only that they stay out of the way.
Pro: Campus is nice, Kufstein is a great city
Kontra: Really everything about the study program
